Currently the workflow is as following:

Move mouse to “create entity”

Pop up shows, the User starts typing, nothing happens.

Grab the mouse and click in the text field.

Move hands back to the keybouard to type the name and presses enter to create, nothing happens.

Grabs the mouse again to press the create button.
The happy flow I suggest is:
- Mouse (or shortcut) to create entity
- Cursor is placed in the TextField, so i can type directly.
- I press enter, entity has been created.
This is way faster, cleaner and helps a lot of beginner users to create their first entity.
