Description of the limitation and why it is relevant to address
Currently it is very difficult to find out where a certain workspace of an app is located. In which project.
The home page shows recent APps, but it actually shows recent workspaces, without relation to the project involved.
It would be way nices to see recent Projects of Apps within Projects. But how can I as a user find out which workspace i was using in which project?
I agree this can be improved a lot. Not only from a end user point of view, also for a maintainer/admin.
I must say that under the recent app tile âtitleâ there is a clickable project name. It only works for the last 3 recent projects, so it is very limited indeed.
Nice that you have both brought this up.
@Johan_Tuls could you further explain what you mean by ârecent Projects of Apps within Projectsâ? We have a couple options to improve the experience on the Home page - showing recent apps and/or adding a link to the project on the app tile.
@Wichard is the clickable project link sufficient in this case or do you feel that something else is missing? Do you feel that this clickable project link will be clear enough for users to use as a navigation point?
I believe it would be more intuitive for end-users if we displayed âRecent Projectsâ first. Users typically engage with projects rather than apps or workspaces. To enhance this, we could also show the recent apps within the last projects.
Additionally, the âWelcome to Viktorâ video is quite prominent. While itâs helpful for first-time users, it becomes less useful afterward.
Iâve created a small mock-up that illustrates this idea.

Additionally the activity dashboard should be (re)organized by app, the current view (activity per workspace) doesnât make sense anymore.
not really the same feature request, but very related.
In addition I would like to see an overview for an admin of:
âââ App A
â âââ Project A
â âââ Project B
â âââ Project C
âââ App B
âââ Project B
âââ Project C
âââ Project D
so you directly can see how many projects (and which) are using a specific app.
Currently you canât (by GUI) see the app usage per project easily.
Great conversation and good improvement points!
Additionally, the âWelcome to Viktorâ video is quite prominent. While itâs helpful for first-time users, it becomes less useful afterward.
If you click the cross in the top-right corner, the video is removed. Maybe we should make this more apparent cause you are the second person in 2 days mentioning it

I agree.
Not only for admins, but what if you know you were working in an app (workspace) but donât know which project it was. How to find it?
I actually never use the Home page, so I actually missed that. Thanks for pointing it out!
@Wichard youâre giving me a run for my (design) money!
Nice improvement idea.
Thank you for the input on the activity dashboard. I agree that it is currently not optimized for apps. We are looking into this already.
Thanks for the feedback as well on this @Johan_Tuls
Any updates on this? Our user community seems to be getting confused about their location within the system.
As a result, they are creating projects within other projects by adding new analysis entities that donât actually belong to those projects. Currently, the âhomeâ page is more confusing than helpful.
There is no copy/move option, so I have to handle the migration myself to fix these mistakes. Also, because itâs not clearly visible where workspaces âliveâ (which projects) it becomes quite a hassle.
Perhaps adding a simple âProjectsâ tab on the App page would help provide a better overview.
I am currently designing for the following improvements on Projects and I believe that your suggestion falls within the last point:
- Improving the flow of adding and inviting users to projects
- Sharing workspaces with other users
- Improving the overview of the projects table
- Improving the filtering options for projects
- Improving the connection between the app store and projects and workspace overviews
I understand that the Home page is still confusing even with these updates being made, and we are still looking into the best improvements for the Home page.

Canât wait for the improvements to land!
One more thing I wanted to highlight (and I hope itâs already on your radar): syncing labels between apps and workspaces. Right now, itâs quite difficult to manage, since any changes made in âappsâ arenât automatically reflected in the workspaces. Everything has to be updated manually, which is far from ideal.
Nice that you brought this up!
Is there ever a case where these labels shouldnât match each other? Or is it always the case that any workspace should match the app labels 1-to-1?
I donât see any use case in why these shouldnât be the same. For simplicity sake I would say, get rid of the âworkspaceâ terminology. A Workspace should contain âprojectâ data, so anything that isnât project data is app
data (labels, app names, descriptions, icons, images) and should be the same in a workspace and app.
