Description of the limitation and why it is relevant to address
The current MapView does not allow a user to easily distinguish MapPoints when they are close to each other. It is impossible to zoom close enough to create enough visual distance between points, and it is hard to access the separate MapPoint icons when they are overlapping.
Submitter proposed design (optional)
- Increased zoom level for MapView, being able to distinguish points with distances [dm], [cm], or maybe even [mm].
- MapPoint icons interactable or dynamic: change orientation to reduce overlap between icons that are close to each other.
- MapPoint icons give a more exact indication of the designated point (Is it the bottom, top, or center of the icon? Where is it?)
Current workarounds
Export the data/switch to other software (CAD, GIS).
Artifically magnify distances between points (thereby misrepresenting where points are in the world)
Create a separate view for small distances, without map data.
